Book Order fro Summer ReadingWe are doing a final book order! Please submit all orders by Friday June 4, 2010. I will submit our classroom order and books will be shipped to Tyler. There is no obligation to order. I just wanted to extend this opportunity to you. Scholastic books are very reasonably priced, and every book order gives us free books or points toward free books and resources for the classroom. Dr. InventionWe are “creating” our own inventions on Friday. We need empty boxes and plastic bottles. Please make sure all plastic bottles are clean.

Extra CreditWe are learning to compare and contrast. Pick a character from a book. Compare and contrast the character with yourself. We are learning about observation. Pick an object and record your observations about it. Word Study InformationDue to the short school week, your child will keep the same word study words until TestOur Ancient Civilization test will be on Thursday March 25, 2010. A study guide and practice test will go home on Tuesday. The practice test is due Thursday but can be turned in on Wednesday. Second Quarter We completed our first week of the second quarter! Rainy Day FunHow to learn and have fun on a rainy day…. 1. Camp out with your family and have a read in. 2. Pick your favorite part of a book and act it out. 3. Read a book. Draw and color the book’s setting on a piece of paper or poster board. Then create a puppet for each character.
